We The People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
The above is
the preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America. This document has been alerted many
times since it's inception. (27 Amendments) Prior to the 20th Century
the Amendments were needed and based on the framers ideals for the
Constitution. After 1900 during a time called the Progressive Era
new Amendments added violated the the spirit of the framers. The 16th
(Federal Income Tax) 17th (popular election of Senators) and of course
the 18th(Prohibition) repealed 1933. The 16th Amendment has had a
shadow hanging over it since it was allegedly ratified. Please read "The
Law that Never was".
After nearly 100 years, since the 17th Amendment ratification. The following is an argument to repeal it and return to the original separation of powers the founding fathers built into the Constitution.
History of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era:
"What is the chief end of man?--to
get rich. In what way?--dishonestly if we can; honestly if we must."
-- Mark Twain-1871

Times have changed since the Gilded Age and Progressive Era and for the most part the changes made during this time battled the inequalities. Our Federal Government is out of control, reforms are needed. When the 18th Amendment failed it was repeal. The 17th Amendment has failed and the U S Senate is out of control and is failing the Ideals set down by our founding fathers. We the citizens of America need to demand the repeal of the 17th Amendment and return to election by the State Legislators. Our current Senators all so wrapped in the National Parties and partisanship that the states are forgot in favor of national interests based on what the national committees sees as important. The 17th Amendment was adopted to fight corruption and undue industrial effluence on the Senate. That is exactly what we have now in the 21st century. Outside influence and money as well the will of the National Political Committees choose who to support for the Senate not the people.
